Shopping
The main shopping street is Calle Marques de Larios which is flanked by expensive boutiques and shops and leads north to the Plaza de la Constitutcion. For souvenirs, head to specialist stores like La Mar de cosas, Ana Marina, and Hevilla. Mercado Central de Atarazanas is a traditional market which is worth visiting for its Muslim decor and atmosphere as much as the dazzling gamut of fresh produce that the market carries. Mercado de Salamanca, or popularly known as Mercado del Molinillo, is a market that serves the center and north of the city with similar products as Mercado Central de Atarazanas, and the Mercado del Carmen is an interesting market with a rowdy character of a port as well as a lovely neighborhood to stroll along. El Corte Ingl?s which is a well-known national department store chain of course has a branch here, and the newly opened mall Centro Comercial Malaga Plaza with its imposing 54-story building that houses all kinds of shops and brand products is only 50 m away. Other than these, Marques de Larios, Plaza de la Constituci?n and Calle de Granada are all thriving areas for shopping as well as nightlife.

Dining
As the country's second biggest sea port, Malaga has no shortage of fresh seafood. The "pesca?to frito" or fried fish in particular is emblematic of the local dishes and often acclaimed as the best in Spain. The Alameda is a good tramping ground to find a place to dine, although the restaurants and bars in the areas of Pedregalejo and El Palo which can be reached by bus # 11 also serve excellent food. Other than these areas, the neighborhoods of Huelin, Avenida Pintor Sorolla and Paseo Mar?timo Antonio Machado are also dotted with many great restaurants to check out.

Nightlife
Most of Malaga's vigorous and animated nightlife can be found in the northeastern part of the cathedral and around Calles Granada, Beatas and the streets surrounding Plaza de Uncibay, as well as in Malagueta which is situated south of the bullring. At weekends and holidays dozens of youthful disco-bars fill the crowded streets in these areas with a cacophony of sound, and over the summer the scene spreads out along the seafront to the suburb of Pedregalejo. The main street here which is Juan Sebasti?n Elcano houses dozens of discos and bars which come alive with animation post-midnight. The beautiful promenade along the seaside El Palo is also a good place to explore Malaga after dark.
