NEIGHBORHOODS

The City Center
The Paseo del Parque is a popular meeting place and an oasis for the locals as this large avenue has its sides lined with gardens and tall trees which provide pleasant shades under the heated Andaluc?an sky. The city's famous cathedral, La Manquita whose style is the product of Renaissance, Baroque and neoclassical morphed together, stands overlooking the park from behind and is open for anyone who would like to cherish its beauty.

Alcazaba
About five minutes walk from the Cathedral is the 15th century Moorish fort called Alcazaba which straddles the hill that once sank to the shore line. Standing next to the fort is the 1st century Roman theater.

Gibralfaro
This Moorish castle stands on top of the hill that overlooks the city and it is a great observing place to get a beautiful panoramic view of the city, the bullring, the port and the beaches. There are also lovely gardens at the top of the hill to rest your weary feet as well as taking in the atmosphere and the scenery below.
